By Raphael E. Polintan

Vice President Leni Robredo announced on Monday that Swab Cab— a free mobile COVID-19 testing service— will resume its operations on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, in Quezon City amidst a rising trend in new daily infections in the Philippines.

“We are rolling out our Swab Cab services again this week, in partnership with the Quezon City LGU and our Angat Buhay partners,” Robredo wrote in a Facebook post.

Operations will commence on Wednesday, January 5, where the Swab Cab will be set up in Brgy. Tandang Sora. The service will run from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and walk-ins will be permitted.

Afterward, the Swab Cab would be stationed in QCX site, Quezon City Circle on Thursday, January 6. Individuals who intend to avail of the service on Thursday are required to sign-up and wait for a confirmation through the following link: http://bit.ly/QCfreetest.

Additionally, free teleconsultation services through Bayanihan e-Konsulta of the OVP are still ongoing and could be availed on the project’s Facebook page at https://bit.ly/BayanihanEKonsulta.

“With the continuing increase of COVID-19 cases, patuloy po sana tayong sumunod sa mga health protocol. Magsuot ng mask, at kung hindi kailangang lumabas, manatili sa loob ng bahay. Magpabakuna, at magpa-booster shot na rin kung qualified na. Let’s keep each other safe from the virus!” Robredo reminded the public.

The Philippines on Monday, January 4, logged 5,434 new COVID-19 infections, causing confirmed cases to rise to 2,861,119. Total active cases now stand at 29,809.
