This year’s school fair theme, branded as Tadhana, opens a new path for students to see the brighter side of their journey in ASHS. With the blooming atmosphere filled with joy and excitement, it allows fairgoers to appreciate every second of this one of a kind experience.
The annual school fair takes place on February 21-22 — with this, let us now take a brief walkthrough of the multiple mini events and rides that can be enjoyed by the attendees!
Bluelapazoola
On the first day of the school fair, the most awaited student bands and artists will take the stage to formally commence the event with their astounding performances that they have prepared for us.
At the opening program, bands such as DON’T START and NO ID NO ENTRY will be setting the stage for what’s to come. Following the opening program and the opening of the fairgrounds, Alitaptap, The Semi Circles, Marty and the Martyrs, and Winnie and the Bees will boost the excitement of the fairgoers as they perform their music at the FLC field for all to see. These will then be followed by certain artists particularly The Blind Spot, Basement Beretta, and Deep Sea Pizza that you can look forward to.
The fairgoers will also get to watch some well-known student organizations like Glee, Dulaang Sibol, and BTTA that will leave an unforgettable experience through their performances..
In collaboration with the ASHS Music Industry Organization, it will feature the raw talents and huge passions of the performers in uplifting the spirit of the event. It’s time to hit shuffle on the Bluelapalooza soundtrack, ASHS!
Retrograde of Fun!
Fair would not be as fun without those thrilling rides that will drive your excitement. The noteworthy Octopus is back on the track which features a classic ride with multiple arms holding passenger cars at each end. Every spin is combined with sudden drops at a certain height that comes with the breeze of the air blowing at you throughout the fascinating ride. Alongside this, the Vikings ride will also swing you high up, back and forth as if you’re on a voyage!
If you want a chill but stimulating ride, you might want to try the Caterpillar. It is a series of connected cars that move along a circular path like a roller coaster. The ride speeds up on each turn and it goes up and down as you accelerate through the tracks.
Additionally, there will be some inflatables inside the fair grounds–which are the Giant Slide and Giant Maze that will embody your inner child fantasy. These inflatables will give us the nostalgic feeling and fun that we all once experienced that you can enjoy with your friends and loved ones during the fair.
Feel it, Say it!
Many of us might bring their beloved friends and the people who matter most in our lives. Through the Dedication booth, you can proudly give them a shout out with your meaningful appreciation messages. This booth is not limited to romantic gestures but serves as a platform to express gratitude and appreciation across relationships.
Whatever you’re feeling at the moment, you might want to pour it out on the fair day itself–perhaps that person may also feel the same way. Now, grab the chance and make your day and theirs memorable.
Knot to Forever
A mini event which is more known as the “marriage booth,” aims to unite two individuals through a wedding-like experience to celebrate their profound connection with each other. This booth is a common tradition at many fair events that fosters the love between people no matter what kind of relationships they might have.
It has a unique twist on the popular wedding booth which includes exchanging rings and signing a marriage certificate. Other than this, they also offer a Chain Booth experience, where participants of the mini event can sign someone up and chain them to something or a person for a few minutes. This is a fun way to create long-lasting memories that will strengthen bonds in whatever you like.
Ball For Juan & Juan For Ball
Are you craving for some snacks?
This sub-project is initiated by the Grade 12 Batch Project Committee, aimed at raising additional funds for its Batch Legacy Project. The booth will sell a variety of snacks that will include street food that you can usually buy outside, from fish balls and squid balls to cotton candy that will help you to keep your stomach full throughout the school fair. You might like to consider a street food date during the event–especially when it’s for sharing.
Soakfest ‘25
An annual activity by HumSS x CSC that allows students to playfully show their appreciation for their formators and classmates by splashing them with water. With this, a nomination form will be released to recommend students and teachers to be a volunteer Splashee for the said event.
Each Splashee will be given 15 minutes on the Splash Chair for students to soak the volunteers according to their chosen mode of splashing priced at different rates. It is a fun and engaging activity that everyone will remember especially to those who participated in splashing!
AlunSing Na!
If you have the voice of a songbird or if you just want to vibe with your friends, this karaoke booth will be the best for you. As the Alunsina’s karaoke was also featured during the Buwan ng Wika, the booth came back stronger than a 90’s trend that allows students to groove and reminisce at the same time.
This is an opportunity to embrace our hobby and talent in singing–because it’s not a Filipino celebration if there is no karaoke that will brighten up the day.
Rizz Me If You Can
Hands up! Are you ready to capture someone or to get captured? Well, we can elevate the fun even more with our highly anticipated Jail Booth with an exciting twist.
This year’s concept is simple yet engaging where it allows students to pay the booth to target someone for “capture” and they will be held in a room for a set period of time. Prisoners must dance to Tiktok songs to escape, or pay a fine if they refuse. So, don’t miss the opportunity to capture someone that you would like to see behind the bars, or for you to get imprisoned with your special someone as well.
Retrocade
Our tadhana experience won’t feel complete without the gaming activities prepared by the Retrocade. This is a retro-style booth with its main attraction of Just Dance 2023, where students can showcase their dancing skills as the choreography is being projected on a large screen for group play.
This will also include famous retro games like Super Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, and more, allowing players to participate in smaller groups. Other than this, fairgoers can also enjoy their additional activities like basketball shootouts and a freedom wall where you can express your thoughts. Students can have their free time as they compete and play various games that await them.
Takipsilim
The fun doesn’t end here, we have a lot of games that you can also choose from! Fairgoers can also enjoy a 30-minute escape room challenge designed for them in solving multiple puzzles. The players will work in teams to decode clues, solve STEM-based puzzles, and uncover cultural insights as they race against time to “escape,” the booth.
In this way, this will not only sharpen their problem-solving skills, but also foster collaboration among the groups at the same time.
Part of the highlights of our school year would be the much awaited fair and its events, as it represents the spirit of the school brought into life. From these most anticipated rides and various mini events that you can partake in, the whole place will take you to the next level as we celebrate the fair culture of ASHS–this is the fun where you belong.
You don’t want to miss out on Tadhana!
