Jesuit Residence is on Lockdown for 2 weeks

By Jermaine Ocampo

26 March 2020 – A message from the Jesuit community informed the Ateneo Community that the Jesuit Residence in the campus is currently on a lockdown that may last up to 14 days.

Fr Emerito Salustiano “Salty” de la Rama SJ, who died last 24 March 2021, had tested positive for SARS-CoV-19, which prompted the lockdown of the building.

In a new message from the Jesuits, nine have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. To ensure the safety of the other Jesuits strict COVID-19 measures such as mask-wearing, physical distancing and isolation are being implemented. Contact tracing has also been implemented.

The Jesuit Community is inviting everyone to fervently pray for their safety and the speedy recovery of those infected.

More information to follow.
