Authorities have launched a wide-scale investigation after five caskets bearing anti-China and anti-communist messages were discovered across various locations in Metro Manila early Friday morning, August 7. 

According to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), the caskets were intentionally dropped off by masked individuals in white and gray vans.

Police responded to reports and secured the caskets in five spots across four cities:
Quezon City: One casket was located at the Boy Scout Circle in Barangay South Triangle and another at the Welcome Rotunda in Barangay Sta. Teresita.
Manila: A casket was discovered near the Carriedo Fountain in Sta. Cruz.
Makati: One was left along Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue in Barangay Bel-Air, in front of the Chinese Embassy.
Caloocan: Another was seen along Rizal Avenue Extension in Barangay 54.

The caskets were found empty, containing mostly crumpled papers, attached were red banners and photographs targeting the Chinese Communist Party and other communist groups.

NCRPO chief Major General Anthony Aberin described the stunt as a deliberate act to stir alarm and provoke public reaction. 

The authorities urge anyone with information to coordinate with local police stations.
