The Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) conducted an active-threat emergency drill on Tuesday, August 25, amid heightened school safety concerns.
During the extended Moderators Inspection Period (MIP), students debriefed with their classmates and moderators and were oriented on appropriate responses to an active threat.
The orientation included videos discussing what students should do when an active threat occurs while they are inside the classroom.
The videos also demonstrated how to barricade and cover classroom doors and windows.
Moreover, it emphasized the ”Run, Hide, Defend” protocol, which instructs students to evacuate when a safe route is available, seek shelter and barricade when escape is not possible, and defend themselves as a last resort.
Students then proceeded to practice the shelter-in-place protocol in their respective classrooms.
