The Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) community honored and recognized the school’s formators by celebrating Duffy-Delaney Day (D3) 2026 with the theme, “Tahanan” on Friday, October 2, at the third floor of the Formation and Learning Center (FLC).

D3 is an annual celebration in honor of Jesuit counselor and teacher, Fr. Charles G. Duffy, SJ and Ateneo’s former Dean of Studies Fr. John P. Delaney, SJ, whose legacies have both underscored the role of formators in guiding students through their years of growth.

This year, the theme “Tahanan” remembers the teachers, custodians, and non-teaching staff as people who have nurtured and led the students with love, making the ASHS akin to their own home.

Before the program started, a Mass for the Memorial of the Holy Guardian Angels was held.

The Mass was presided over by Fr. Erwin “Bok” F. Arandia, SJ, an Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) alumnus who graduated from the high school in 2001.

In his homily, Fr. Arandia emphasized the role of teachers and formators in helping students navigate difficult moments, encouraging the community to recognize and appreciate their presence and efforts as second parents.

ASHS Principal Rosanna A. Borja concluded the Mass by giving her closing remarks for the Mass and thanking the sponsors and speakers from 12-Beyzym, 12-Geronimo, 12-Solinas, and 12-Sullivan.

After the Mass, the hosts, Winona Anterola and Adrian Aen Zafra from the Student Ambassadors Program (SAP), officially opened the culminating program.

They introduced the Assembly of Class Officers (ACO) Vice President, Amanda Montoya, and the Project Operations Department (POD) Executive, Choley Zipagan, who both gave the opening remarks.

Following this, the Broadway Theater Troupe of the ASHS (BTTA) performed a sing-a-long performance of ABBA’s “Dancing Queen.”

The “Crowd Cam” segment featured all the teachers from the various departments, giving a chance for them to get a moment of applause and appreciation, including the Health and Services Professionals, Guidance department, non-teaching staff, Office of the Campus Ministry (OCM), and Admin A-Team.

Afterwards, students showcased their outfits, which were themed after the teachers’ younger selves, in a “Fit Check” and played a game of “Bring Me” as students brought certain teachers that matched a prompt.

The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Hataw Team from Pinoytutunan 2026 then gave a dance routine in honor of the celebration.

The event concluded with a special greeting video from the ACO, filled with clips from different classes, and a video message from the ADMU President Fr. Bobby Yap, SJ, who expressed his gratitude to the formators.
