As conflict to assert power in the West Philippine Sea arises, we look through how the conflict has progressed and its origins. As tensions arise, the need to emphasize the importance of our waters to the livelihoods of the Filipino people does as well. The continuance to fight over an economic gem will only continue to endanger the lives; and begs the question: “Just at what ends will we have to reach for this power fight to end?”
