Johnielle Keith Pasion Nieto or most commonly known as “Kit Nieto” is the incumbent Mayor of Cainta since 2013. Mayor Kit Nieto’s proactive response towards the COVID-19 situation has been praised by the citizens. 

Kit Nieto put Cainta under a Community Quarantine coinciding with the Metro Manila Community Quarantine last March 15, and started implementing various measures – from thermal temperature scans, regular sanitation, the banning of all public gatherings, and the distribution of supplements, among others.

When the Enhanced Community Quarantine was implemented on the island of Luzon, he immediately put out measures to support the people who were losing income and supplied them with their basic needs.

He organized the aid given to 5,000 drivers of Jeepneys, Tricycles, UV Express, and Pedicabs in the Municipality of Cainta.

The Municipality of Cainta has started mass testing its residents last April 20, earlier than most places in the country. The municipality prioritized their testing and started in Greenwoods Subdivision in Barangay San Andres, where the most number of confirmed cases in Cainta are located.

He was also praised by netizens for holding auctions for his rare collection of sneakers, the 

proceeds for the auction will be used as cash aid for workers displaced by the coronavirus crisis. As of May 3, 2020 he has raised more than P1 million.

The swift and creative actions of Mayor Kit Nieto has definitely caught the eye of the citizens, and has certainly fulfilled his duties as a public servant.
