The First Virtual Senior High School Orientation Seminar (SHOrSem) is happening on August 4 and 5.
The SHOrSem is an annual two-day event in the Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS), aimed to orient and welcome the incoming Juniors into the community.
Traditionally, the SHOrSem is held in the ASHS Campus but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the committee organized a virtual one.
SHOrSem 2020’s theme is Hablon, a Hiligaynon word meaning “to weave”. The theme and name “Hablon” refers to the art of weaving, like forming a strong bond.
The SHOrSem promotions started with the different organizations and committees that the ASHS offers, ranging from the organizations of the different districts, the different Sports Clubs, and the Sandigan Committees.
In a teaser released July 24, the SHOrSem Committee revealed the ASHS Campus built entirely in Minecraft. As of now, there are no plans to release the server and the map for the campus.
There are a lot of things to look forward to for the Online SHOrSem and Jen Saavedra, the Overall Head of SHOrSem, wanted the theme of this year’s SHOrSem to reflect the current situation.
“Since classes are going to be held online for this school year, we want the Juniors to still feel welcome and know that the entire ASHS community is here for them. Hablon aims to emphasize the interconnectedness of each individual within this diverse community we call home,” Jen Saavedra said.
The SHOrSem Committee has been planning this event for almost 3 months to welcome and make Juniors feel at home in the ASHS
Welcome Home Juniors!
