It was one long summer break and five months of doing nothing at home tested our ability to be in solitude. Now that we already have classes, even if it’s online, we are still expected to prepare well for it. Online classes are just as important as learning in the classrooms and it also needs us to muster up all our energy and prepare for it daily. Here are some ways to adjust well to do this kind of setup.
Try to keep a regular sleep schedule
It is quite tempting to sleep late since we are at the comfort of our own homes all day long and we are no longer pressured that the bus may leave us if we wake up later than usual. However, it is better if we allot enough time for us to rest and recharge. We must not compromise our health just because we do not feel tired.
List down all the tasks
Not all pending tasks are listed on Google Classroom and it can be quite confusing to keep track of all the classworks. Might as well have a list, either handwritten or digital, of all the tasks on hand and finish it one by one. This way, it is easier to assess our priorities and organize our thoughts.
Setup 15 minutes before classes start
Sometimes, technology does not cooperate when we want it to. There are a lot of technical difficulties that may arise so make sure that there is enough time to troubleshoot. Aside from this, being early can also help classes start on time and respect the time of others.
Take down notes during synchronous sessions
Even though all our learning materials are uploaded online, our teacher may say something crucial during synchronous sessions that may not be found on the powerpoints. This will also keep us alert during classes and prevent us from dozing off.
Use break times wisely
The time allotted for each of our subjects should be enough to finish deliverables. Facing our laptop screens for hours is admittedly tiring, not only physically but also mentally. Make sure to stretch, go to the restroom, eat, rest, and relax in between sessions.
It may be hard to get used to all of this since we were looking forward to going back to school to see our friends and teachers face-to-face. Even if we find ourselves still confined to our own homes, let us not forget that soon we will all see each other again. This is why we must still do our best in this situation and make the most of what is given to us.
