ASHS Strand Councils surprise their teachers on Duffy-Delaney Day

The Ateneo de Manila Senior High School celebrated Duffy-Delaney Day with video dedications for the teachers presented after the virtual mass on October 5 2020.

These videos were prepared by the council of each strand—ABM, GA, HUMSS and STEM. Preparation for their pasabogs began after the first ACO General Assembly on September 21.

Each strand council thought of various ways to thank their teachers through their videos.

For instance, the ABM Council prepared a 2 minute jingle titled “High School Life” featuring pictures of all their class moderators and all their subject teachers. At the end, they each said their “thank you”s to the teachers using various filters.

Likewise, the GA Council prepared spoken poetry with a twist. Each student in the video was  wearing a hoodie and shades, doing different actions for each stanza of the poem. After the event, GA strand teachers posted their own hoodie pictures on their social media accounts as a way to thank their students’ efforts.

Meanwhile, HUMSS Council presented a video showing a short skit between Sabie Aquino and Pia Begtang, the HUMSS Chairperson and HUMSS Secretary, respectively. Their video also shows an interview between Pia Begtang and the members of the HUMSS Council, asking questions like “How would you describe your teachers in three words?” and “What do you promise to do for your teachers from now on?”.

The last video shown was from the STEM Council who also prepared spoken poetry which portrayed their message in the video. They thanked their teachers for continuing to teach them despite how hard it may be, especially when they have their personal duties and problems. Every member of the council had their chance to speak a line. Their video ended with a message saying, “Salamat po sa lahat ng binigay niyo sa amin, hinding-hindi namin makakalimutan ang mga natutunan namin sa iyo.”

Apart from this, each Sanggunian Council (ATHC, CSC, ACO, CSO) prepared jamboards for all teaching, non-teaching personnel, faculty, staff and even the guards of the school.
