The Assembly of Class Officers (ACO) announced the delegated project of the Office of the President, Class Empowerment Assemblies (CEA), which aims to strengthen bonds and relationships within each class section, on the ASHS Sanggunian’s Facebook page, last October 17, 2020.
This project, which will be led by class representatives, highlights the importance of connection and keeping in touch with each other despite the online setting through different activities to help students hone their skills in terms of communication and collaboration, and developing camaraderie among students.
“One of the reasons Sanggunian, specifically the ACO, pushed for this project is to foster class unity within the ASHS,” said Gino Bulatao, ACO Vice President.
“We believe that pushing for the project despite the pandemic would hopefully knit the classes together especially the juniors, that despite the online setting, we would still be able to make everyone feel belonged in the community,” Bulatao added.
This project came into existence because of Gabrielle Dotado, former 11-Mayer Class President, and currently the Sanggunian President, who had a similar project for her class last school year, which then expanded and became a project for the whole ASHS community this school year.
Her class project, Mayer Power Assemblies, had a goal similar to CEA’s, which is to bring people together even at the classroom level and stand for what they saw people needed, including inclusivity and class empowerment.
“Our community right now faces similar problems as 11-Mayer did last year, more so now that we are in an online learning setting, there is a greater need to bring people together and empower our student leaders to step up and respond to the needs of their constituents,” said the Sanggunian President.
CEA will begin depending on the classes’ decision and choice, with the EROs and IROs spearheading the whole project.
“CEA on its own is not enough, it is merely an avenue that leaders now need to maximize, our classroom leaders have a bigger part to play in addressing these issues,” Dotado stated.
