The Stars Have Spoken

My, my, what do we have here? Oh, sweet child, what has beckoned you to set foot in Madame Luna’s Mystical Marquee? There’s nothing here but cobwebbed walls, dusty cabinets of antiques, and empty candelabras. With the seemingly endless lockdown, the business has not been going well lately. You desire to know what 2021 has in store for you, huh? Humans and their cosmic curiosity never fail to amuse me. Well, then, take a seat, exactly six feet away, and let me peruse what the stars say about you.

The Rash Ram (Aries – March 21 to April 19)

Oh, young ram, the year 2020 must have caged and stopped you from running headfirst. The restricted feeling might lead you into making rash decisions and emotional choices in 2021. This year can damage you and your wallet even more. Madame Luna advises you to not seek liberty from things you can easily control. You don’t have to check-out every single thing in your Shopee cart.

The Busy Bull (Taurus – April 20 to May 20)

The bull never stops grinding—pulling an all-nighter, hard-carrying your group, or simply nibbling down chunks of requirements from your to-do list. Remember that self-care is just as important as success. Last year was a tough year as you probably felt that you weren’t able to advance towards your goals, and you’re thinking of pushing yourself more this year. There’s no need for such. Instead, focus on reconnecting with yourself and doing the things you love. Madame Luna urges you to go enjoy an episode of your favorite Netflix show, have a tasty snack delivered,  indulge in your hobbies, or just snatch that eight-hour beauty sleep.

The Versatile Twins  (Gemini – May 21 to June 20)

As the chameleon of the zodiac who can adapt to your environment quickly, home brings you both ease and inconvenience. You will find yourself missing the things you used to do like chatting with friends, walking to school or work,  which you have used as a distraction for your own struggles. You’re probably going to cover it up with a smile with the help of your quick-witted and quirky nature. Somehow it feels like the grinning person you encounter on your computer screen every day is not who you are inside. But trust me, it’s going to get better, and the joy you wear will gradually feel more and more genuine. No cap.

The Tip-toeing Crab (Cancer – June 21 to July 22)

As crabs tend to thread in between shores, it’s time to stop being swayed by the waters and stand firm on your grounds. Although you are great at attending to people, you must also learn how to confront them and say no. Given the online setting, it may be harder to be clear with your feeling, but at least you don’t have to do it in person. It’s time to turn on your mic and voice out your frustrations—chop off toxic relationships, drag your ghoster groupmates, and ask the questions you’ve been meaning to ask.

The Rip-roaring Lion (Leo – July 23 – August 22)

Oh, king of the wild, have you lost your roar? The online setting is totally not your jungle. You thrive in social interactions and physical touch, and the lack thereof, is taking so much toll on you. You’re very worried about how others perceive you now more than ever. Make sure that this year won’t be the same as last year. Regain your lost exuberance, compliment the person you see in your little Zoom square, and climb your way back to the social food chain.

The Meticulous Virgin (Virgo – August 23 to September 22)

Just as 2020 was going so well for you, a horrible entity tainted your impeccable progress. Your system? Soiled. Your function? Disrupted. When you lost hope after months of lethargic pandemic response, you decided to clean after someone else’s mess and take matters into your own hands. You’ve developed and fortified a routine that allowed you to get things done, turning the unprecedented change into a catalyst for growth. You impose high standards from yourself and to others as well, possibly causing rifts in your relationships. You’ve started the year laser-focused on your aspirations and goals, Madame Luna prompts you to continue what you’re doing while still being open for mistakes, and you’ll rule 2021 with an iron fist.

The Steady Scale (Libra – September 23 to October 22)

Equilibrium. Balance. Ironically, it’s something you lacked last year. You lost your precious harmony. Often caught up in between the past, reality, and future, you think about the what-ifs, what-could’ve-been, and what-will-be. Your mundane feelings weigh you down, but you also try to uplift yourself by being as optimistic as possible. This 2021, invest your time in rebuilding lost yet meaningful relationships, reach out to someone you miss, connect to your friends through online means like Netflix parties, games as simple as skribbl.io, or video calls. It’s time to take the first step instead of waiting for something to happen.

The Steely Scorpion (Scorpio – October 23 – November 21)

Beware of the scorpion’s stinger because you might just fall under its clutches. You like to be in control of your life and everything around you. When they go left, you veer right. When they go up, you descend. You don’t go with the flow because you know what you want and you’re willing to do whatever it takes to get there. Your powerful and commanding presence might intimidate and shoo people away, especially those who you haven’t met in person yet. This year 2021, what you want to do in life will become even clearer as you will become more in touch with your emotions and feelings. Your college choice, your dream job, and your passion will finally become certain. Learn to let go of unhealthy habits and behaviors, as they tend to recoil back into your system. Show the people that you’re not as prickly and toxic as they paint you to be.

The Eager Archer (Sagittarius – November 22 to December 21)

With your bow, you aim to the sky and shoot with your heart. You let the flying arrows lead your path as you stride independently. You let your feet drag you to the destination, but you can’t really go anywhere far at home, am I right? Thus, you feel like you’re just running around in circles, continuously, without a concrete direction. Your 2020 was saturated with the same days just with varying names and numbers—waking up, studying, finishing deadlines, sleeping, and repeat. This 2021, Madame Luna compels you to look where you are currently at instead of going for a new adventure. Reflect on these questions. Who are you with? How far have you come? How far do you still want to go? Find the things you enjoy the most and dwell on them, it will make your stay at home bearable.

The Stubborn Seagoat (Capricorn – December 22 to January 19)

Hey, kid, stop grazing the same fields over and over again. Although you set rules for yourself, it won’t hurt to try and loosen up a bit. Broaden your horizons and look beyond your self-image. When you climb a mountain, you have little remorse for the stones you trip over or the dirt you step on, your eyes are just focused on the top. Last year, you probably felt as though the achievements you’ve hoarded were lacking—in both quantity and quality. This year, try tapping in with your creative side and live your days care-free. Do not stress over requirements due next month or the papers you’ve entrusted to somebody else. Allow yourself to just breathe and go with the flow of time.

The Warm Water-Bearer (Aquarius – January 20 to February 18)

Lovely water-bearer, mystical healer, springing everyone with life, healing them up, but at the end of the day, you’re left with nothing but an empty jug. Last year, you’ve probably been drained to the core after all the virtual parties you’ve organized, or the family members you’ve taken care of, and the number of responsibilities placed on your shoulder. Your commitments- whether work, study, or relationships wriggled you dry as you vigorously lent your hands to everyone who needed them. This 2021, Madame Luna wants you to learn how to prioritize yourself, focus on your own backlogs, and finally take the first sip.  Mend your restless heart and find your own fountain of joy. You sacrificed a lot last year and 2021 will make up for it.

The Elusive Fish (Pisces – February 19 to March 20)

Underneath the ruffled water, the fish swims freely in tranquility—something that those on the surface cannot fathom. Your consciousness is your sea, and you navigate around it, but sometimes get lost in its vastness. Thus, you are often in deep waters, and the people around you may feel like you’re oceans away. The year 2020 must have felt like you were put in an aquarium, a fishbowl, caged in walls of your own nature. Slowly, you become too accustomed to this environment and you often find yourself retreating to your bedroom, holed up in your blanket, and getting lost in your own world of films, books, and music. However, this 2021, you will be able to break free and jump out of your shell with the help of the right companions. You will be able to focus on your overdue modules and incomplete goals. Madame Luna encourages you to learn how to open up and let someone in your life, but be careful of those who are only curious about the splashes but do not have the guts to dive in deep.

Marvel at the stars, sweet child. Heed these words whispered by the celestial sky. I see in your eyes, the beautiful beads of light, adjuring you to transcend from the darkness of the past year. As the golden dawn breaks, leave the toils and turmoils with the night, and welcome the day with hope for a brilliant new beginning.

Until we meet again. With much love, Madame Luna.
