Krono wraps up SHOrSem 2021 “Oras” as the juniors bid goodbye to their orientation week in the Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) yesterday, 6th of August, 2021, via livestream on the ASHS Sanggunian page.

Krono, which came from the word kronolohiya, is an online schoolwide concert of the ASHS which featured various performances from the organizations of the Performing Arts District (PAD), ASHS teachers, and segments presented by the Ateneo Publicity and Communications Organization (APCO).

The concert’s hosts, JL Estavillo and Pauline Anne Cailles, welcomed the community and introduced the event which aimed to “greet the Juniors with the best wishes for their fresh beginnings here in the ASHS,” as they said.

The APCO has also made segments in between performances that featured interviews with ASHS teachers and several juniors, all of which are hosted by Samantha Danielle Villanueva and Zach Alabastro.

Their first segment featured an interview with some ASHS teachers from different subject areas—Sir Christopher Ryan I. Adalem, Ma’am Kristine Therese Santiago, and Ma’am Melinda T. Siega Cobar—wherein they talked about their relationship with the students, their shift to the online setting, memories in the ASHS, and so much more.

This was followed by Kefi of the Ateneo’s Music Industry Organization (MIO)’s cover of Dream Girl, originally by No Vacation, Luis Felipe’s performance of Peaches by Justin Bieber, and Broadway Theatre Troupe of Ateneo’s (BTTA) rendition of From Now On, a song from The Greatest Showman.

Before SHOrSem took place, the hashtag #ASHSOras has been used on different social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, and the APCO hosts and guest host Clarence Basco featured relatable tweets that went viral among the ASHS students.

After reading viral #ASHSOras tweets, another set of performances was showcased, including the Glee Club’s cover of Drivers License by Olivia Rodrigo and Symphonic Ensemble’s cover of the Howl’s Moving Castle’s official soundtrack.

The last APCO segment featured ASHS Juniors, Alyssa Fredeluces, Michelia Julienne Baduria, and Thirdy Capa Pacis, talking about their journey towards the ASHS, their experiences so far in this online setting, including the organizations they want to join in the coming involvement week.

To conclude the online concert, Indayog ng Atenistang Kabataan – INDAK performed famous dances over the years, while ASHS faculty members welcomed Batch 2023 by grooving to BTS’ Permission to Dance.
