The official calendar for the 2022 National and Local Elections has been released by the Commission on Elections (ComElec) morning of October 11, Monday.
Following the conclusion of the filing of the certificates of candidacy (COC) last October 8, the ComElec released the activities for the upcoming elections including the election period, the campaign period, and election day.
Campaign period will be held on February 9 to May 7, 2022 for national positions, while local positions will have their chance to campaign from March 25 to May 7, 2022.
Additionally, candidates will not be allowed to campaign during Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Eve of Election Day, and Election Day.
Election Day will be held on May 9, 2022 for voters in the country, while overseas voters will be able to cast their votes starting April 10, 2022.

Meanwhile, the extended voter’s registration period also started on Monday and will end on October 30, 2021.
ComElec offices will be accepting applications only on weekdays and October 30, from 8am to 5pm. Satellite registration centers will follow the schedule of their designated venues.
