“When I say A-B-M, you say power!”
On the fourth installment of the Ateneo de Manila Senior High School (ASHS)’s Strand Days, Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) Seniors from 12-Acquaviva, 12-Anchieta, 12-Beyzym, 12-Bobola, and 12-Carvalho were greeted with a warm welcome through their plenary session alongside ASHS faculty members and the A-Team last April 8, 2022, Friday.
Prior to the plenary session, the Blue Battle Battalion performed an introductory cheer to hype up the anticipation of the crowd, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by Pia San Miguel of 12-Carvalho, and the recitation of the Panatang Makabayan by Zach Alabastro of 12-Carvalho.
The plenary session was kickstarted by hosts Axel Limjoco of 12-Beyzym, Ron Balgos of 12-Carvalho, and Robby Cui of 12-Acquaviva who welcomed ABM seniors with a lively cheer, “When I say A-B-M, you say power!”
This was followed by the introduction of the ABM Core Council and the exhibition of class videos, composed of a myriad of the favorite experiences of ABM seniors.
Then, three representatives from each class were called up to the stage to present their ABM Class Spirit Competition outputs, where they were asked to showcase their class attire, class banner, and class cheer.
In the end, the segment was won by 12-Bobola who took pride in their cheer, “Kaya ‘pag sinabing Bobola, siguradong walang bobo-la!”
To further raise the volume of the event, the Indayog ng Atenistang Kabataan performed a few choreographies, immediately followed by a surprise performance of faculty members who danced to TikTok trends like “Paro-Paro G”, “LALISA” by LISA, and “Butter” by BTS.
Mr. Noel P. Miranda then proceeded with his speech igniting the passion and bringing each ABM senior closer to home—Ateneo.
He emphasized that Ateneo is a safe space and a refuge, and isn’t only a home because of the structure, but also because of the people that make up its community. Additionally, he reiterated that Ateneo is home because it enshrines the deepest values and further wished for each ABM senior to grow in the 5Cs before ending his speech by stating that this [Ateneo] is the place where they belong, and welcomed them home.
The speech was then followed by the singing of the Song for Mary, led by the Blue Babble Battalion.
After the plenary session, ABM seniors were directed to their formation sessions.
