With 98.35% of election returns transmitted as of 6:17 A .M.,  Bongbong Marcos remains the frontrunner for the highest position in government with 31, 103, 670 votes, and his running mate, Sara Duterte-Carpio, also leads the vice presidential race at 31, 560, 847 votes as per the partial and unofficial results. 

The PPCRV has received 23,420 election returns (ERs), with 9,790 already encoded as of 7 P.M., May 11, 2022. 

Poll watchers anticipate an influx of ERs from Luzon and are looking for 300 more volunteers to help with encoding today. 

Additionally, the PPCRV had been waiting for ERs from Visayas to arrive since 10 P.M. last night. They had previously received ERs from Misamis Oriental, but this was the first from Mindanao.

Meanwhile, according to an official, the Commission on Elections will investigate two incidents of alleged irregularities in voting centers in Mindanao.

Officials from foreign countries such as China, Australia, Japan, and the United States of America have also started to share their congratulations to the Philippines on their national elections and expressed that they are looking forward to working with them. 

In other news, Department of Education Secretary Leonor Briones released a statement welcoming Bongbong Marcos’s announcement that vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte-Carpio has agreed to be the next education secretary.
