With the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) completing its transparency server operations last May 13 with 98.35% of total election results processed, presumptive president and vice president Bongbong Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte-Carpio continue to top the polls, respectively. 

Manual Audit of votes reaches 100% match so far with COMELEC’s automated count

Last Tuesday, May 10, COMELEC initiated a random manual audit of votes with 757 clustered precincts. 

The process determines the accuracy of automated vote-counting machines with manual verification. With 50 teams assigned to work on the process, the process would last for 45 days.

According to COMELEC commissioner Aimee Ferolino, the polling body received 406 ballot boxes last May 13. Six of the said boxes have already been manually audited. She also stated that no variance was recorded as of the moment.

Today, the manual audit reached a 100% match so far with COMELEC’s automated vote count.

COMELEC suspends canvassing of COCs

The COMELEC suspended the canvassing of certificates of canvass (COCs) in PICC at 5:05 PM due to the lack of COCs to be canvassed. Twenty-four COCs have yet to be canvassed from local and primarily overseas Hong Kong and Jordan transmissions. 

As of 5:38 PM, COMELEC has canvassed 149 out of 173 COCs. They will resume the session on May 15, Sunday, at 3 PM.

COMELEC to proclaim winning party lists and senators from polls by next week

During a press briefing, COMELEC spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco stated that they might be able to partially proclaim the winning party lists and senators from the May 9 polls based on the current number of total votes next week.

The COMELEC is currently aiming to proclaim the winning party lists and all 12 senatorial candidates by next week.
