Filipinos gear up for Christmas 2022

With 27 days left until Christmas, Filipinos have begun to flock to shops and public markets to buy their preparation needs.

Consumers have started to swarm Tabora Street in Binondo, Manila to purchase gifts and avoid the Christmas rush on Sunday, November 27.

Members of the Manila Police District have also been going around Divisoria to ensure the safety of patrons as they acquire presents for the Christmas season.

On the other hand, senior citizens from Marilao, Bulacan have been showcasing their creativity by making recycled bags and Christmas lanterns out of newspapers and empty soda bottles, which may serve as gifts or decorations.

Their pieces were exhibited during the Rotary Community Corps Showcase 2022 at Taguig City University.

In addition, traditions halted by the pandemic slowly return in light of this year’s Christmas celebration.

Tarlac, also known as the “belen capital of the Philippines,” launched Belenismo 2022, while in Baguio City, a university-lead lantern parade will be conducted to welcome the holiday season.
