KFD festivities return in ASHS

The Katipunan Fund Drive (KFD) tradition found its comeback in the Ateneo de Manila Senior High School (ASHS) with the decades-old initiative turning a new stone as it implements new protocols and regulations in the ASHS.

To signify the beginning of the KFD season, a reflection led by Mr. Panotes and a flash mob prompted by the AHS Indayog ng Atenistang Kabataan transpired on February 13, Monday.

Classes of the Ateneo Senior High School partook in the initiative by selling products and services that adhere to the KFD’s objectives: applying students’ knowledge on entrepreneurship and promoting local products, all while raising funds as a help to victims of calamities.

Some sections revived the years-long presence of some businesses in the history of KFD such as Rodic’s, Ate Rica’s Bacsilog, and West Wings.

This year’s selling season, however, poses higher restrictions and protocols.

Unlike previous years, food products have to be sold pre-packed and students are prohibited from cooking and preparing onsite.

Additionally, classes can no longer hold events as their KFD initiative.

“KFD is one way of training and molding students into becoming persons for others because through KFD, we don’t just donate. We spend time, energy, and talent in order to help raise funds for victims of calamities,” Sir Vincent Loiz, class moderator and CLE teacher, said as he emphasized how the said initiative demonstrates the institution’s contributions to various areas in the nation affected by unfortunate events.

This year’s KFD season will last until March 17.
