The NCRPO Director Maj. Gen. Edgar Alan Okubo expressed in a press conference held on Friday at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City that male officers will be replaced with female police officers because the latter has the patience in listening to the complaints of the public, whom they referred to as “customers”.
According to Okubo, what induced this change are specific reports, such as male policemen at desks “taking a while” before acknowledging the requests of the public.
Due to this, male police officers who will no longer be performing front-desk duties will instead be given field assignments to also boost police visibility on streets at night.
However, Okubo said the modifications would only be implemented in 45 police stations across the five police districts that the NCRPO controls: 16 in the Quezon City Police District, 14 in the Manila Police District, 7 in the Southern Police District, and 4 in each of the Northern and Eastern districts.
