“Solstice,” a fundraiser led by 11-Campion, commenced on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Ateneo Junior High School (AJHS) Covered Courts.

The concert was organized as part of the Katipunan Fund Drive tradition of AHS.

Various Filipino artists, including OPM bands, P-Pop groups, and student performers were present during the concert.

Basement Beretta, In the Clear, Martyr and the Martyrs, The Dawn, Paolo Sandejas, Unique, Magnus Haven, Zild, as well as BINI showcased their music in the event.

“BINI was the artist that I was looking forward to because I recently heard their songs and I love it already! I love BINI for real and their performance was really, really good and I love Maloi,” expressed Kelly Tang, a Solstice attendee.

Solstice was hosted by Ms. Joam De Guzman and Mr. Trix Yumul, one of the Ateneo Senior High School teachers.

The event had a wide variety of food and beverage stalls stationed at the back of the AJHS Covered Courts, including Fruitas, John Lemon, and Ling Nam Fried Siopao, among others.

“I think a fundraiser like this is a good and fun way to get a lot of people to contribute to the cause. It feels nice na habang nageenjoy ka, you also get to become part of something that will be for the betterment of the community so like its fulfilling na parang you’re enjoying and doing something for the community at the same time,” Angela Paragas, one of the outsider attendees, said.

Additionally, Aliyah Garcia of 12-Oldcorne stated that Solstice “was a great and effective way of raising funds for the cause.”

Solstice in a nutshell.

For Mx. Paragas, Solstice was a “good experience” as the organizers were very approachable and entertaining.

Despite the cramped standing area, Mx. Paragas expressed that the “high energy” from the crowd still added to their overall excitement.

On the other hand, Mx. Garcia commended the hosts’ flexibility in handling the audience. Although some parts of the concert were delayed, Mx. Garcia still managed to enjoy all the invited artists’ performances.
