On Tuesday, May 20, the Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) students, teachers, and parents gathered at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater to witness the Office of Student Activities (OSA) Awards, recognizing the students’ excellence and achievements for the academic year.
The event started with an opening speech by Mrs. Ma. Cecila Dela Cruz-Lacson, mentioning the importance of the different student-led activities and its impact to the ASHS community.
Following the opening ceremony, the different awards were presented. The St. Peter Faber, SJ Award was given to the class officers for their leadership in their respective classes. As for the different athletes that showed their dedication to their sport, the St. Jean de Brebeuf, SJ Award was given.
The Bl. Bernardo de Hoyos, SJ Award was also given to the different organizations, sports clubs, and committees (OSCCs) and student groups who embodied the 5Cs and PinaSulong in their projects.
The OSA Service Award was given to the students who practiced the Ignatian Ideals through their service and leadership.
Lastly, the Gawad Lingkod Atenista Award was given to the student groups who have planned and executed projects that became an avenue for service.
After the giving of the first two awards, the current ASHS Principal, Sir Noel P. Miranda, gave a short speech, showing his gratitude for the leadership and service found within the ASHS students.
“All the individuals and groups that are being recognized tonight have shown commitment. Not only to their personal growth, but also to the betterment of our community. So, on behalf of the entire Ateneo de Manila Senior High School family, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and deepest gratitude,” he went on to say.
Performances by the Music Industry Organization, Indayog ng Atenistang Kabataan, and the Executive Council were showcased in between the different awards, and the students also gave out roses to the moderators as a surprise.
