The Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) Formators facilitated “Bukluran,” a two-day interstrand event, on Monday, January 27, and Tuesday, January 28 at the ASHS campus.
Carrying the theme “TaraLets! Mga Peregrino ng Panalangin,” Bukluran 2025 invited students of the ASHS to participate in fun activities, aiming to build relationships within the school community.
Day 1: ALT Class 2.0
Beginning with a series of unique alternative classes, the first day of Bukluran commenced with “ALT Class 2.0.”
The day was divided into sessions, in which students could enroll in two classes, a special class, or join a field trip outside the ASHS.
When asked about his experience with the field trip to the Supreme Court, Jorrel Fernandez of 11-Hurtado said, “It really helped me find myself and helped me discern my future careers as well. Overall, it was a life-changing, inspiring experience.”
Formators and guest instructors were invited to teach a variety of classes, covering different topics, life skills, and hobbies.
“My main takeaway is [to] always be curious. Always ask questions because there’s always something you want to know about something,” said Ricci Chan, instructor for the alternative class on makeup.
Day 2: Fun Run, Fun Laro
For the second day of the event, the ASHS community got together with their respective teams, composed of one junior and one senior section, displaying a united front as they competed in the Fun Run and Fun Laro.
The Fun Laro consisted of three games, namely, the Floor is Lava, Stacking Cups, and Outdoor Mala-Dodgeball, through which competing teams displayed their camaraderie and teamwork in winning the games.
Simultaneously, students from each section showcased their speed and competitiveness in finishing the 2.5-kilometer lap around the senior high school campus, with respective class mascots parading along, strengthening the sense of school spirit.
“Although it was very hot and very tiring, it was very fun that the partner classes had so much school spirit, and let’s say na lang na they had fun together playing games,” said Dani Guerrero of 12-Denn, regarding the activities prepared for the second day of the interstrand event.
