On Friday, April 25, the Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) community gathered at the third floor of the Formation and Learning Center (FLC) building to celebrate the Jubilee of Teenagers.
The year-end mass was presided over by Fr. Braulio Dahunan, SJ, together with the ASHS and the AJHS chaplains.
Running toward Jesus
Fr. Dahunan’s homily revolved around how we experience being emotionally, physically, and spiritually exhausted but can still feel unseen, unrecognized, or unfulfilled.
He highlighted the experiences of students, teachers, and staff, who often felt overlooked despite their efforts and sacrifices.
However, in moments of silence and vulnerability, many shared that they encountered the quiet and comforting presence of Jesus.
“Don’t wait. Tumakbo ka papunta kay Hesus. Tumakbo ka palapit sa kaniya, hindi palayo sa kaniya. Even if you’re tired. Even if you feel unworthy. Run to Jesus. Because He is already running toward you,” he said.
After the homily, a rite of blessings was given for the outgoing and the incoming officers of the ASHS Sanggunian.
The class sponsors for this eucharistic celebration were 12-Bobola, assigned for the readings; 12-Carvalho with their class moderator as the commentator; and 12-Walpole, who created the publication material.
The main beneficiary of this mass was Cribs Foundation Inc., a non-profit organization that implements a foster care program for children in the country.
