The Jesuit Athletic Meet (JAM) 2025 roared into its second game day on September 25 at Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan (XU-ADC), where Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) delegates delivered dominant wins in football and basketball, battled for a draw in futsal, split results in badminton, and went toe-to-toe in volleyball.
The morning kicked off with a football showing as ADMU flew past Xavier School Nuvali (XSN) 10-0, setting the momentum for the day.
ADMU’s dominance continued at the Xavier Ateneo Sports Center (XASC) where the Boys’ Basketball Team took control of the 5×5 tournament against XSN in a 125-18 blowout.
However, in the Girls’ 3×3 division, ADMU conceded to back-to-back defeats. The Blue Eagles fell 9-14 against Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) and dropped an 8-12 game to host school XU-ADC.
At the futsal grounds, ADMU clashed with the host team in a tense competition, rallying the game back and forth, ultimately ending the match with a 1-all draw.
For the Boys’ Volleyball event at the Xavier Ateneo Senior High School (XASHS) Covered Courts, the Blue Eagles faced Xavier School San Juan (XSSJ), but struggled to find their rhythm, falling in straight sets, 25-11, 25-15.
On the other hand, ADMU gave way to a series of contrasting results at the XASC Badminton Courts.
In the Boys’ category, ADMU swept Loyola College of Culion (LCC) and Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU) with identical 3-0 scorelines, but fell short in securing the victory against ADDU, XSSJ, and Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU), all ending 2-1.
On the Girls’ side, ADMU edged Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-ADC) in a close 2-1 triumph and later defeated ADDU, 2-1, securing two victories. Later on, the Blue Eagles suffered back-to-back losses to ADZU, 0-3, and XU-ADC, 0-3.
The tournament matches continue on September 26, leading up to the culminating day of JAM ‘25 on September 27, 2025.
