Sweat and cheers filled Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan (XU-ADC) on the third game day of the Jesuit Athletic Meet (JAM) 2025 as the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) athletes fought across futsal, chess, and swimming to prove that the Blue Eagles own the skies.
At the futsal grounds, ADMU’s girls wasted no time in seizing control, netting three goals past Xavier School Nuvali (XSN) to close the match in a 3-0 sweep.
On the boys’ chess boards, XSN emerged at the top, securing first place, while ADMU followed in second. Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU) claimed third, completing the podium.
It was in the pool, however, where the Blue Eagles carved their mark as Aina Miakaela Lim of ADMU pulled herself from the waters after storming the 50-meter breaststroke, gold gleaming on her chest.
Simone Arianne Kyle Cruz added her own first-place finish in the 100 M butterfly, touching ahead of Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU) and Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-ADC).
The relays carried equal weight as in the girls’ 4×50 M freestyle, ADMU fought tooth and nail, finishing second behind ADNU, while the boys’ relay powered to first, leading the pack over XSN, Xavier School San Juan (XSSJ), and Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU).
ADMU continued to dominate the swimming event in the boys’ division as Rafael III Lentejas sliced through the 50 M backstroke to take gold, joined by teammates Gabriel Ethan Gaw for bronze and 4th placer Marcus Gabriel Molino.
Miguel Luis Martinez soared twice, placing first in the 100-meter freestyle and in the 50 M breaststroke, where Gaw followed right behind for silver.
Finally, Gaw and Antonio Joaquin Reyes dove into the 100 M butterfly, locking the top two spots, respectively, in a clean sweep.
With day three in the books, ADMU now turns its focus to the culminating day of JAM 2025 on September 27, ready to finish strong and soar high, carrying the pride of the blue and white.
