The Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) Commission on Elections (ComElec) is set to begin the campaign period for the Strand Vice Chairperson Elections (SVCE) on Tuesday, October 7.

The campaign period will open with an onsite campaign at the first-floor Main Building on October 7, followed by the online release of the candidates’ campaign materials from October 9 to 10.

The campaign aims to prepare the electorate — the Grade 11 students — for election day on Monday, October 20.

In line with this, ComElec Chairwoman Jeyhia Enriquez stated, “It is your collective voices, as the electorate, that shine through this election.”

She added, “The very heart of the election — the campaign season — marks the most critical period for juniors to discern the context of their batch and seek the values and qualities they want in their future leaders as a batch.”

She also said that participating in campaign and election activities allows democracy to “thrive and mobilize,” whether by learning about the candidates, viewing their school year plans, or asking questions via Vox Populi.

“Stay informed, engage, and take part in making ASHS a place where we all truly belong,” Enriquez encouraged the student body.

The electorate may also send their questions to the candidates through Vox Populi until Monday, October 13, in preparation for the town hall debate (THD) on Wednesday, October 15.
