The newly elected class officers for the School Year (SY) 2025–2026 connected with each other as the Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) Assembly of Class Officers (ACO) spearheaded their first general assembly, the Lead Summit 2025, at the Blockbox Theater on Saturday, October 4.
Hosted by ACO’s Internal and External Secretaries, the event was formally opened with ACO Vice President Kriztine Estillore’s remarks, which emphasized the event as an opportunity for “leadership and bonding as one ACO council.”
After the opening, Keynote speaker JB Wacnang Bejarin, a former ASHS Sanggunian President and former Loyola Schools (LS) President, had a talk that tackled the question: ”Anong pinaglalaban mo?”
In his message, he shared the history of ASHS and the issues during his time that are still prevailing until now, including the significant gender ratio.
Bejarin also stressed the need for members of the ACO to know the environment they are moving in.
“If you don’t recon with the problem, then you don’t care. If you don’t care, that’s when greed sets in,” he stated.
He concluded with a challenge for the class officers — to continue bringing their dreams and hopes to help the community and the country.
Bejarin’s speech was then followed by a recess and the breakout sessions wherein the officers got to take a closer look oon their roles, responsibilities, and what to expect from their positions.
ACO Moderator Sir Cheo Crispin centered his talk on servant leadership, saying, “I want the class officers to know that it’s not about them — it’s about the class they serve,” acknowledging that the difficulty of the position is what makes it “transformative.”
The officers from each class then engaged in a case study activity to try and address situations that may arise in the classroom, followed by creating a General Plan of Action (GPOA) where they outline their plans for their sections.
They also participated in “Amazing Race,” where they had to finish a set of challenges with their assigned section clusters for rapport-building.
The final session was a strand breakout session, where the class officers explained the case studies, presented their GPOA, and accepted commentary from the Strand Core.
