On Wednesday, October 22, the Ateneo Senior High School’s (ASHS) Sandigan Lakambini launched its Gender Sensitivity Training (GST) themed “Kalumangyo, Umangat!: Empowering Leadership Through Inclusivity,” aimed at strengthening compassion and inclusive leadership among student leaders.
The theme was derived from the Old Tagalog words kalumangyo (a close companion) and umangat (to rise or gain perspective), highlighting leadership and community-building.
As a mandatory formation activity for the ASHS student leaders, the training provided them with the awareness and empathy necessary to foster an inclusive environment.
The sessions are held in Rooms 310 and 311 of the ASHS Main Building across multiple dates:
October 22:
- Session A (2:00–3:30 p.m.) – Organizations, Sports Clubs, and Committees (OSCC) Heads
- Session B (4:30–6:00 p.m.) – Sanggunian Core
October 24:
- Session C (2:00–3:30 p.m.) – Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) & General Academic (GA) Strand Class Officers + Strand Council [Seniors]
- Session D (4:30–6:00 p.m.) – ABM & GA Class Officers + Strand Council [Juniors]
November 7:

- Session F (4:30–6:00 p.m.) – HumSS & STEM Class Officers + Strand Council [Juniors]
The seminar was led by University Gender Hub Training Coordinator Ryan Camacho, along with response team representative Jeivi Nicdao, who guided students through the Day 1 discussions.
After the discussion, the participants engaged in an interactive breakout session to apply the lessons in real-life situations.
The Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Gender Hub, located on the second floor of Gonzaga Hall, shared information about its services, including conducting gender-sensitivity training, creating safe spaces, and providing case response and care services.
