The Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) held its annual one-day Religious Vocation Exploration (ReVEx) on Tuesday, November 18, giving all Grade 12 students a chance to explore possible callings through exposure to diverse religious ministries and vocations.

The event was organized by the Office of Campus Ministry (OCM) in collaboration with the Christian Life Education (CLE) Department.

Throughout the day, representatives from various religious congregations visited classrooms to introduce their missions, share their experiences, and give the students a glimpse of their day-to-day life.

Interactive booths were also set up in the first-floor foyer of the Main Building, offering pamphlets, religious artifacts, additional information on ministries, and opportunities for students to have a one-on-one conversation with the representatives.

The booths featured the following congregations:

  • Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (A.C.I.)
  • Congregation of Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation (N.S.C.)
  • Daughters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary (Ravasco Sisters)
  • Order of Pious Schools (Piarist Fathers)
  • Missionaries of Jesus (M.J.)
  • Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres (S.P.C.)
  • Order of Preachers (O.P.)
  • Missionary Sisters of the Holy Face of Jesus (M.S.H.F.I.)
  • Society of Jesus (S.J.)

Alongside their booth interactions, the congregations also visited different classes, and in one of those visits, a handmaid from A.C.I shared that joining the Sacred Heart of Jesus allowed her to discover a deeper sense of purpose, highlighting that she felt “more free and filled with greater love” after dedicating her life to God.

She added that this freedom came from serving others in the community, saying, “I feel like now I have the love of the whole world’s handmaidens by my side.”

Reflecting on her experience, Miel Nabuab from 12-Xavier stated, “ReVEx opened my eyes to the deeper meaning of vocation and helped me realize that it is an inner calling that contributes to the greater good.”

She expounded that the experience encouraged her to listen more closely to that call, adding that RevEx inspired her “to become a catalyst for positive change” in her community.

All classroom sessions then concluded with an open forum, allowing students to directly engage and ask questions to the representatives.
