On Wednesday, December 10, the Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) Sanggunian Juniors opened “Under The Mistletunes,” a Christmas fundraising project for the custodians, guards, and other non-teaching staff of the ASHS.

Carrying the theme “Sa himig ng Pasko dala’y mahika ng saya’t pagbibigayan,” the initiative commenced with the launch of its Secret Santa Delivery Service, which allows customers to send gifts to anyone in the ASHS community.

The booth for the delivery service is stationed at the first-floor foyer of the Main Building, featuring various pieces of jewelry in partnership with Anything by YHD, ornaments, and other merchandise.

Moreover, “Under the Mistletunes” will also include a talent show viewing and Christmas tree lighting on Wednesday, December 17, open to all Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) students and their families.

The talent show program will showcase different performers within the ASHS while also featuring various food stalls and photo booths set up around the ASHS grounds.

With the Juniors’ Christmas Initiative being an annual project in the ASHS, Undersecretary to the Office of the President Maisie Ruelo said, “We wanted to have that same impact in the way it brought the ASHS community together.”

As head organizer of the fundraiser, Ruelo explained that the council integrated classic Filipino culture as they planned an event that will highlight the ASHS community’s talent and togetherness

She shared, “I wanted to emulate that in this project, where we think of the ASHS as a family, and we’re going to get together for Christmas.”

Ruelo also emphasized the importance of giving back to the community, such as the ASHS’ non-teaching staff, especially during the Christmas season.

“There’s a certain magic in our own small way — making Christmas happen for others,” she concluded.

The fundraiser will run from December 10 to 12 and December 15 to 17, culminating with the talent show and tree lighting at the ASHS Field.
