ASHS marks Christmas celebration at Community Night

The Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) community gathered for its annual Christmas program on Friday, December 19, at the third-floor Formation and Learning Center (FLC), as part of the school’s Community Night celebration.

The program officially opened with a Panunuluyan, or Nativity presentation, performed by the ASHS Community Fellowship.

Spearheaded by the ASHS faculty, the program was hosted by teachers Bb. Maya Beltran and Bb. Geprimer Yalong, who continued the program by sharing their favorite Christmas memories.

Year 1 ASHS teachers then performed a dance featuring a remix of songs from the musical film “Kpop Demon Hunters,” presenting their own rendition of the choreography.

Afterward, the Year 2 and 3 ASHS teachers later took center stage with a dance number set to viral pop songs, with students eventually joining the performance toward the end of the performance.

As he experienced his last Christmas celebration as an ASHS senior, Samuel Biglang-awa of 12-Kibe shared, “During the Mass, laughter with friends, and cheering on the teachers, the memories of the past year and a half really came together through the program.”

He also noted that the celebration reflected the values instilled by the school, stating, “It showed how ASHS formed us to be kind, to have fun, and to lift others up while doing so.”

Biglang-awa further emphasized that the event helped recall moments that reflected their time in the school.

After the performances, ASHS Principal, Ma’am Rosanna Borja then delivered her Christmas message, encouraging students to take time to rest during the break.

“I really wish all of you a restful break ahead. Please use the time to rest and recharge [so you’ll be] ready for the rest of the second semester,” she said.

She also thanked the whole ASHS community for their energy and participation throughout the program.

The event concluded with a heartfelt song performance by all formators, who sang the ABS-CBN Christmas Station ID “Star ng Pasko.”

The students returned to their respective classrooms to continue the celebration through their class salusalo.
