SINAG conducts ‘Scholars’ Care and Formation Session’

On Wednesday, February 18, scholars of the Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) gathered at the Gonzaga Chapel for the Scholars’ Care and Formation Session — an initiative led by Samahan ng mga Iskolar na Naglilingkod at Gumagabay (SINAG) in partnership with the Office of Admissions and Scholarships (OAS).

The program aimed to provide “a space for sharing, reflection, and fellowship among their fellow isko [scholar] amid academic demands.”

Serving as guest speaker, SINAG Batch 2025 Vice President for Formation and Member Care Claudde Agleam talked about her journey as a former ASHS scholar.

At the start of her talk, she asked the scholars to reflect on moments in their lives when they felt most cared for.

Agleam then discussed ideas such as kapayapaan, reflection, and magis, and shared how these shaped her, while also tackling the role of SINAG during her time as a scholar.

She encouraged the scholars to be proud of themselves, stating, “Iskolar ako, hindi iskolar lang,” and shared that it is important to focus on ways to improve and grow.

Following the talk, the students participated in an activity where they created a timeline of their journey in the ASHS and went with their respective groups to share their reflections.

Chloe Licayan, current Vice President for Formation and Member Care, noted that being a scholar in the ASHS comes with unique adjustments and challenges, even for seniors.

‘‘This session is really important para magkaroon kami ng space to collect our thoughts and also to be [in each other’s presence],’’ she added.

Licayan also highlighted that scholars share a common ground and sense of understanding that brings comfort within the community.

The session concluded with a light merienda for everyone following the reflection and sharing activities.
