Student businesses launch ABM Selling Week ‘26

By Lia Atienza

The Grade 12 students of the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) strand of the Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) kicked off the first wave of the ABM Selling Week on Monday, March 9, at the third-floor foyer of the Main Building.

The wave 1 of the week-long entrepreneurship project features food and beverage businesses from the four classes, designed to apply business concepts in real-life situations and promote hands-on entrepreneurial experience.

“Applying the lessons I dread in class were actually fun in practice,” said JD Martinez from 12-Acquaviva’s MAMI ONIgiri.

He added, “Despite its difficulty, it’s eye-opening and helps me learn the basic fundamentals of running a business.”

The first wave of the selling week includes businesses from 12-Acquaviva (MAMI ONIgiri, MasaWrap, MatchUp, and Shawarmix), and 12-Ancheta (ChipZilla, Fruchi, Rice N’ Spice, Wazzup Bicho’s).

Also set up in the foyer were businesses by 12-Arnaiz (Brew Eagles, Freakchata, Smoochi) and 12-Beyzym (BITZZA, Hole-In-A-Tender, TaCOW!), selling meals, snacks, and drinks.

Tonie Fernandez from 12-Beyzym’s TaCOW! shared, “While stress was inevitably present, there was something incredibly fulfilling about watching our hard work turn into reality.”

She also emphasized the importance of teamwork in creating a successful business, recalling the relationship formed among the members that contributed to the effective management of their business.

“Beyond the food, we want to leave behind a story of passion. We hope to be remarkable to the ASHS community by showing what happens when ABM students give their absolute best [in] their craft,” she concluded.

The first-wave businesses will remain open until Friday, March 13, while the remaining groups from the four sections are set to launch their businesses during the second wave from Monday, March 23, to Friday, March 27.
