On Monday, March 16, the Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) Council of Student Committees (CSC) launched Commitment Week 2026 under the theme “AGAPE: Rooted in Love, Growing in Purpose,” which will run until Wednesday, March 18.

The event serves as an invitation to the ASHS community to strengthen their social involvement and commemorate the Christian Service Involvement Program’s (CSIP) 25th anniversary and Tulong Dunong (TD) Program’s 50th.

The opening ceremony was conducted during recess at the first-floor foyer of the Main Building, featuring the opening of the Tulong-Dunong (TD) Exhibit through a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

This was followed by the performance of the Music Industry Organization (MIO) featuring  “Aura” by Filipino band IV of Spades.

Booths and Concessionaires

The CSC set up several interactive booths across the second-floor foyer in collaboration with various organizations that reflected the theme, including the following activities:

  • Mission: Accessible
  • Build Your Go-Bag!
  • Tanglaw ng Bahaghari
  • Salamat Kapwa
  • Aluninaw!
  • Alimbukad

There are also food concessionaires such as Silingan Coffee and Ex-Preso, which support the families of victims of the extrajudicial killings (EJK) and persons restored to liberty, respectively.

Up and Coming Events

In line with the week’s activities, ‘‘Heart2Heart: Advocacy Talks’’ took place after dismissal, featuring speakers advocating for Kythe Child Life Services, Ateneo’s Sustainable Master Plan, Women Empowerment in Philippine History,  and Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan.

The event will also include Biscuits for Joseph — a charity drive held throughout the week in celebration of the solemnity of Saint Joseph.

The donations will go to the beneficiaries in Hospicio de San Juan de Dios of Bocaue and Missionaries of Charity in Tayuman.

More activities are scheduled for the following days, including “Locks of Love: Hair Donation Drive,” in partnership with Kythe-Ateneo, on Tuesday, March 17, during recess time and seniors’ lunch time.

In addition, ‘‘Kythe Messenger’’ will allow students to write letters in Filipino for the pediatric patients supported by the organization under the theme “Favorite Childhood Stories.”

There will also be a “LIFELINE: Blood Donation Drive,” led by the Pre-Medical Society of the ASHS (PMSA-SHS), in partnership with the Medical City Blood Bank, scheduled for March 23 or 25.
