ASHS ComElec presents ExeCElec candidates in MDA

On Wednesday, March 18, the Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) Commission on Elections (ComElec) conducted the annual Miting de Avance (MDA), featuring candidates for the Academic Year (A.Y.) 2026–2027 Strand Chairpersons and Executive Council, held on the third floor of the Formation and Learning Center (FLC).

Under the theme “Punong Paglilingkod and Rooted in Service,” candidates for the Executive Council presented their plans, platforms, and advocacies, and answered inquiries from both the incumbent officers and the student body.

The event featured aspirants for Sanggunian President, as well as Vice Presidents for the Athletes Council (AthC), Council of Student Committees (CSC), and Council of Student Organizations (CSO).

Also included were candidates for strand chairpersons for the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM), General Academics (GA), Humanities and Social Sciences (HumSS), and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strands.

The program consisted of the following segments:

  • OS: Opening Statement (45 seconds per candidate)
  • CI: Strand Chairperson/ Incumbent Executive Council Inquiry (1 minute per candidate)
  • VP: Vox Populi (1 minute per candidate)
  • CS: Closing Statement (45 seconds per candidate)

The candidates per position are as follows:

  • Sanggunian President: Rhian Claire S. Peregin
  • AthC Vice President: Prince Rainer M. Zoleta
  • CSC Vice President: Klyde Derek S. Sioson
  • CSO Vice President: Portia Iris G. Katigbak
  • ABM Strand Chair: Zeki Reignsky U. Vizcarra
  • GA Strand Chair: Danielle Isabel C. Paz
  • HumSS Strand Chair: Marie Gabrielle A. Pilar and Jakob Wolfram E. Yulde
  • STEM Strand Chair: Cyan Paolo O. Blanca and Jared Malvern Hidalgo

Notably, there are no candidates for the position of Assembly of Class Officers (ACO) Vice President.

Due to time constraints, the segments for the Executive Council were ultimately cut short. Closing the event, ComElec Moderator Sir Putong reminded the electorate that the final decision lies with them.

The Year-End Elections (YEE) are scheduled for Monday, March 23, with the official results to be announced on Friday, March 27.
