DepEd: “No plans yet” to revert school summer break to April-May

Despite the suggestions of educational sectors and the “extreme” weather conditions in the country, the Department of Education (DepEd) has no plans yet of moving the school summer break back to April and May.

Senate basic education committee Chairman Sherwin Gatchalian proposed to revert back to the previous school calendar as the senator cited reports of the effect of extreme heat on students.

Marcos Jr. ratifies reduction of military pension

With its threat to the country’s fiscal health, the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. agreed to push for “much-needed” reforms to military and uniformed personnel (MUP) pension benefits, including the cessation of increasing pension benefits.

Effective March 27, 2023, the Blue & Gold food provider for the Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) and Junior High School’s (AJHS) cafeterias has ceased operations, according to an announcement made by the Assistant Principal for Administration, Maria Cecilia Dela Cruz-Lacson. 

KFD season closes after one month sale

Last March 17, 2023, the Ateneo de Manila Senior High School’s Katipunan Fund Drive (KFD) season came to a close in partnership with the Christian Service and Involvement Program (CSIP).

The fund drive lasted for one month, starting February 13, with the primary goal of “develop[ing] a sense of social awareness and involvement […] by offering Filipino products and services”, according to their official primer.

NCRPO plans to replace male officers with female cops on front-desk duty

The NCRPO Director Maj. Gen. Edgar Alan Okubo expressed in a press conference held on Friday at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City that male officers will be replaced with female police officers because the latter has the patience in listening to the complaints of the public, whom they referred to as “customers”.
