NEW YEAR: Late replies of “Happy New Year!” and waking up to a different year on the clock, the spirit of the celebration remains. As the remnants of confetti lay on the floor, half eaten fruits left on the table, and resolutions listed around the desk, this year marks an end of an era and a spark to a new one. However, a household filled with round fruits and red outfits won’t be the same without the very traditions it encompasses. SUBJECT TEACHERS: Teachers are often seen as the reflection of what they teach. Math teachers like math jokes, English teachers read classics, or maybe History teachers read only strictly about the past. In between these pages, however, is the truth that books aren’t reserved for only a set of people, and their use isn’t to sort and divide them. Rather, it brings the knowledge of people together and breaks barriers of what is expected. TIME IS GOLD: In the quick four months that have passed in the previous semester, a multitude of memories have been made. For juniors with a fresh arrival, these are memories of new places and people to be treasured. While for seniors, these only mark the nearing of the end of the unforgettable two-year journey that ASHS offers. Yet with every given pile of examinations, reports, and essays that reminds students of the intimidating future ahead of them, there is a pause in living in the present. It only takes one semester for students to be given the crucial glimpse of what truly matters when making the most out of their time spent on campus.
