The Philippine women’s football team, known as the Filipinas, continued its campaign in the AFF Women’s Championship 2022 with a second consecutive win, after beating Singapore on Wednesday, July 6, at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Six members of Coach Alen Stajcic’s squad stepped up in the game and earned seven massive points against Singapore, dotting the game at 7-0.
Isabella Flanigan, team captain Tahnai Annis, and Sarina Bolden propelled a head start in the first half, while Sara Eggesvik, Kaya Hawkinson, and Anicka Castañeda strengthened the team’s edge in the second half.
Flanigan scored in the 8th minute, Annis in the 10th and 19th minutes, Bolden in the 38th minute, Eggesvik in the 47th minute, Hawkinson in the 55th minute, and Castañeda in the 68th minute.
The team’s whopping seven points increased their overall score in the regional competition by three points, propelling them to the top of Group A with a total of six points. Following this, on Friday, July 8, at 7:00 PM, the Filipinas will play against Malaysia with the goal of securing a third straight victory.
